What is Carba Mix and what is it used for in latex, nitrile and butyl gloves?
Carba Mix is composed of the following chemicals:
· 1,3-Diphenylguanidine - A medium accelerator for use with thiazoles and sulfenamides in various natural rubber (latex) products.
· Zinc Dibutyldithiocarbamate - An activator, antidegradant and accelerator for natural rubber (latex), butadiene, styrene-butadiene, nitrile-butadiene, butyl rubber, and ethylene propylenediene terpolymers. Also identified as ZBC.
· Zinc Diethyldithiocarbamate - An activator and accelerator for natural rubber, styrene-butadiene, nitrile-butadiene, and butyl rubber. Also identified as ZDC.
These chemicals are used in the production of rubber (latex), nitrile (synthetic latex), and butyl rubber (synthetic latex) and other rubber-based products. In addition, these chemicals are used as pesticides and fungicides in a wide variety of applications: sports equipment, personal products, office and healthcare fields.
