Are QRP packaging materials compliant with WEEE directives? 2017-09-30T17:29:04+00:00

Yes, all printed QRP packaging and cartons are imprinted with all relevant recycle logos.  QRP cartons contain 50% recycled materials.  Plastic bags are imprinted with the recycle logo (03-LDPE) per plastic bag industry practice.

Are QRP packaging materials compliant to RoHS directives? 2017-10-06T18:34:19+00:00

Yes, QRP packaging materials are compliant to RoHS directives.  QRP’s printed and plain packaging and cartons are RoHS compliant based on four compulsory test items under RoHS directives:

  • Cadmium and Cadmium compounds
  • Lead and Lead compounds
  • Mercury and Mercury compounds
  • Hexavalent Chromium compounds

The RoHS imprint on QRP’s packaging materials reflects the fact that the materials are compliant.

Are QRP products compliant to RoHS directives? 2017-10-06T18:34:28+00:00

Yes.  QRP products are RoHS compliant.  Independent third party test reports indicate that all QRP products have achieved “Not Detected(ND)” for six compulsory test items under RoHS directives:

  • Cadmium and Cadmium compounts
  • Lead and Lead compounds
  • Mercury and Mercury compounds
  • Hexavalent Chromium compounts
  • Bromated organic compounds – Polybrominated Biiphenyls (PBBs)
  • Bromated organic compounts – Polybrominated Diphenylethers (PBDEs)
What is QRP’s research and development policy? 2017-09-30T17:27:23+00:00

For over 30 years QRP and its affiliated subsidiaries have been committed to undertake research and development toimprove the current product specifications as well as develop the future generation of products.

1. Electrical & Electronic Sector – The market requirements will be based on RoHS directives. The RoHS directive is compulsory in Europe and currently being enforced int he US, China and Japan. Our R&D activities are to modify production parameters to allow the migration from non-RoHS to RoHS compliant chemicals. All QRP gloves and fingercots (nitrile, latex and polyurethane), are RoHS compliant.

2. All Industries Sector – Market requirements are based inenvironmental protection: Reduce, Re-Use and Recycle. Many of QRP’s packaging materials can be recycled at local recycling facilities.

3. Medical & Pharmaceutical Sector – Market requirements call for 510K registration and CE marking. QRP’s policy is to purchase all raw materials which are compliant with the medical and pharmaceutical sector.

What standards are used to classify cleanrooms? 2017-09-30T17:26:06+00:00

Two standards were used to classify cleanrooms:  Federal Standard 209E (FD-STD-209E) was used in the US.  The ISO standard was used in Europe.  In November 2001,  FD-STD-209E was superceded by ISO 14644.

What is Carba Mix and what is it used for in latex, nitrile and butyl gloves? 2017-09-30T17:25:29+00:00

Carba Mix is composed of the following chemicals:

· 1,3-Diphenylguanidine – A medium accelerator for use with thiazoles and sulfenamides in various natural rubber (latex) products.

·  Zinc Dibutyldithiocarbamate – An activator, antidegradant and accelerator for natural rubber (latex), butadiene, styrene-butadiene, nitrile-butadiene, butyl rubber, and ethylene propylenediene terpolymers. Also identified as ZBC.

· Zinc Diethyldithiocarbamate – An activator and accelerator for natural rubber, styrene-butadiene, nitrile-butadiene, and butyl rubber.  Also identified as ZDC.

These chemicals are used in the production of rubber (latex), nitrile (synthetic latex), and butyl rubber (synthetic latex) and other rubber-based products.  In addition, these chemicals are used as pesticides and fungicides in a wide variety of applications:  sports equipment, personal products, office and healthcare fields.  This list is by no means complete and/or conclusive.

Yes, the AF125 series of cleanroom nitrile gloves are manufactured without the use of:

  • Diphenylguanidine or 1,3-Diphenylguanidine; N,N’-Diphenylguanidine
  • Zinc mercaptobenzothiazole
  • Zinc dibutyldithiocarbamate or bis(N,N-dibutyldithiocarbamato) zinc; carbamic acid          dibutyldithio-, zinc complex; zinc bis(dibutyldithiocarbamate)
  • Zinc diethyldithiocarbamate or diethyldithiocarbamic acid zinc salt; zinc      bis(diethyldithiocarbamate);  zinc diethylcarbamodithioate
  • Tetramethylthiuram monosulfide, Tetramethylthuriam disulfide, Dipentamethylenethiuram disulfide
  • Disulfiram
  • Manganese salts of diethyl- or dibutyl-dithiocarbamates

Diphenylguanaidine is a medium accelerator used witht hiazoles and sulfenamides in variosu rubber (latex) products.

Zinc Dibuthyldithiocarbamate (ZBC) is an activator, antidegradant and acceleator for natural rubber (latex), butadiene, styrene-butadiene, nitrile-butadiene, butyl rubber, and ethylene proyplenediene terpolymers.

Zinc Diethyldithiocarbamate (ZDC) is an activator and accelerator for natural rubber, styrene-butadiene, nitrile-butadiene, and butyl rubber.
